New Length Tool, Polygon Hatching, and Trackpad Pan: Takeoff Updates and Bug Fixes
Introducing the Length tool for set pipe lengths and counts, polygon hatching for clearer drawings, two finger pan for trackpad users, and fixes for hand tool feedback, class isolation, metric calculations, and project uploads.

New Length tool for set quantities
You can now measure using set quantities for pipe lengths and counts. Define your standard lengths and counts once, then apply them across the project so totals stay consistent and easier to audit. The Length tool is built for workflows where you work from fixed lengths and counts rather than freeform lengths only.
Polygon hatching fill option
Polygons support a new hatching style for fill. Use it to distinguish areas by type, material, or phase, and to make drawings easier to read. Hatching is available wherever polygon fill options are shown so you can keep your takeoffs clear and consistent.
Trackpad pan for laptops
On trackpad laptops, two finger swipe pans the canvas in any direction. Pan and zoom are tuned for trackpad use so you can run takeoffs without a mouse. This applies across the takeoff canvas wherever pan is available.
Hand tool visual feedback
The hand (pan) tool now shows a clear visual change when you press the space bar. You get immediate feedback that pan mode is active, which reduces misclicks and makes keyboard plus mouse workflows more predictable.
Class isolation and editing fix
Previously, isolating a class and making an edit could remove or affect hidden classes. That behavior is fixed. Isolating a class now only affects the visible class; hidden classes stay intact when you edit.
Metric calculation fix
A calculation error in the metric system has been corrected. Metric units and conversions should now match your expectations; re run any metric takeoffs you want to double check.
Project upload and large pages
Some uploaded projects would fail on a particular page because of its size and then keep trying to load the project for that missing page. We changed behavior so that instead of silently failing and retrying indefinitely, the system retries the page during project creation. You get a clearer outcome and can retry or adjust the project without an endless load.
Summary
This release adds the Length tool for set pipe lengths and counts, polygon hatching for clearer takeoffs, and two finger pan for trackpad users, plus fixes for hand tool feedback, class isolation, metric calculations, and large page uploads. If you have feedback or run into issues, reach out through the app or your usual support channel.
